TARA LILA

A short time that we can be together with family and friends. Many times we only get to see each other but once a year. Bring everyone together, Plan a winter excursion to the north woods. Take in a family sleigh ride, snowshoe though the snow covered trees, cross country ski on one of the many groomed trails, over 600 miles of groomed snowmobile trails.

We have a little ice rink for skating all ready for you, bring your skates. Finish off the evening with a roaring outside bonfire. Why have S'Mores only in the summer. Come see the forests in winter, the small towns all decked out in their winter finery.

Ice conditions on the lakes are improving. about 8-14 inches, be be very cautious as depths can vary.

I just stopped by the Three Eagles Trail "Cross Country Skiing" just a few minutes from us.
The People that were just coming off the trail said it was in very good shape.

ANNUAL ICE CASTLE IN EAGLE RIVER, WISCONSIN

Waiting for 2013

This years (2012) Ice Castle will not be built.

DATE: EVERY YEAR between Christmas and New Year's (weather permitting), Eagle River's annual ice castle construction has been a community tradition for nearly eighty years! Over 3,000 ten-inch ice blocks are cut from a local lake using antique ice equipment, trucked to town, and placed and sculpted into a breathtaking new design every year by volunteers led by the area Fire Department. Located on a major snowmobile trail through Eagle River, everyone stops to have their picture taken in front of the Ice Castle! Lit at night, too!

Time to start thinking about wonderful northern Wisconsin winter weekend or mid-week in a cottage or a cozy room in the Inn here in the Eagle River, Vilas County Area.

On the waterfront of the Eagle River chain of 28 lakes between Watersmeet and Yellow Birch lakes. The Inn has cozy knotty pine paneled rooms. The waterfront cottages have kitchens with enclosed porches. Enjoy a day of fishing for Muskies, Walleye, Bass or pan fish in one of the over 1000 lakes, Trout in one of the many clear streams or look for Ruff Grouse, Deer, Bear or any of the other animals. We are encompassed by Chequamegon- Nicolet National Forest, Northern Highland American Legion Sate Forest and Vilas County Forest that have bike and hiking trails for all levels of experience. Only one mile west of downtown Eagle River as other activities and dining are a quick walk or drive. For those of you that need the outside connections we have cable TV and Wireless Internet Connections or better yet just sit near the water's edge and relax.
