Eagle River Area Fire Department
Eagle River's annual ice castle construction has been a community tradition
for nearly eighty years! Over 3,000 ten-inch ice blocks are cut from a
local lake using antique ice equipment, trucked to town, and placed and
sculpted into a breathtaking new design every year! Located on a major
snowmobile trail through Eagle River, everyone stops to have their picture
taken in front of the Ice Castle!

Phelps Maple Syrup Fest
05 April 2014
Come to beautiful Phelps, WI and explore the traditional art of making pure maple syrup. A wonderful and educational event filled with a hands-on tree tapping demonstration, driving and bus tours of several local sugar bushes, maple-based foods, a craft fair, dinner/dance, and children's activities held by the Northwood's Children's Museum. There will even be a Maple Syrup Judging Contest. A mostly indoor event will be held at the Phelps School. The demonstrations and tour will be outdoors. Come join us for the Phelps Maple Syrup Tour. This will be a sure end to the winter blues and cabin fever.

17th Annual Journeys Marathon

Journeys Marathon is a challenging and inspirational spring race that starts with the woodland backdrop of Boulder Junction, WI on rustic roads while meandering through the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest and passing many scenic northern Wisconsin lakes. This is a race not to be missed. Now that the winter season is about upon us.
We still have all the winter activities here in Eagle River and Vilas County.
Just the time to start thinking about wonderful northern Wisconsin winter weekend or mid-week in a cottage or a cozy room in the Inn.
On the waterfront of the Eagle River chain of 28 lakes between Watersmeet and Yellow Birch lakes. The Inn has cozy knotty pine paneled rooms. The waterfront cottages have kitchens with enclosed porches. Enjoy a day of ice fishing for Walleye, Nothern or pan fish in one of the over 1000 lakes, look for Ruff Grouse, Deer, birds or any of the other animals that are still out. We are encompassed by Chequamegon- Nicolet National Forest, Northern Highland American Legion Sate Forest and Vilas County Forest that have cross country ski and snowshoe trails for all levels of experience. We have an ice rink for skating or broom ball. Only one mile west of downtown Eagle River as other activities and dining are a quick walk or drive.
